The main objectives of FLD is to demonstrate newly released crop production and protection technologies and its management practice in the farmers field under different agro climatic regions and farming situations. The main idea of FLD is to increase the productivity by implementing improved crop production technologies. FLD on Oilseeds, Pulses, Cereals and Horticultural Crops are regularly conducted by this KVK.

a. FLD on Oilseeds and Pulses:
During this year, FLD on Oilseeds and Pulses during Kharif 2009  and Rabi 2009-2010 season was implemented in 90 ha area among 194 farmers.  Groundnut, Sunflower, Castor, Redgram, Greengram and Blackgram crops were selected for FLD programmes.  They were provided with critical inputs for demonstration of proven new varieties and technologies. 

b.FLD on Cotton:
The FLD on Bt Cotton was carried out in an area of 10 ha among 25 farmers of Rengasamuthiram, Renganathapuram, Natchiarpuram and Kovilpatti villages

c.FLD on cereals, Horticulture and Other Crops:

FLD programme on cereals and Horticultural crops and other enterprises were implemented in an area of 55 ha among 132 farmers. The newly released varieties like CO R H 3 Rice, CO S 28 Sorghum, CO Cu 9 Cumbu, Fodder Cumbu Napier CO 4, CO (FC) 8 Fodder Cowpea and technologies on Budworm management in Jasmine, Management of Iron deficiency in Ratoon Sugarcane, Management of Root wilt in Coconut, Management of Button Shedding in Coconut, Banana Special in nutrient management of Banana, Mango Special in Nutrient Management of Mango and Integrated nutrient management in Brinjal were demonstrated. Regular FLD training programmes, field visits, field days, Farm Science Club (FSC) formation and FSC meeting were organized.

d.FLD on Poultry:

A new Broad breasted white and Bronze breed of Turkey was popularized among 10 farmers.

e.FLD on Farm implements and Machinery:

The FLD programme on Farm implements and Machinery was demonstrated in an area of 25 ha among 45 farmers with the popularization of the following 3 implements viz.,
1.CRIDA Groundnut Stripper 2.CRIDA Castor Sheller 3.TNAU Coconut Tree Climber
